Percentage Increase Calculator
Enter a starting value and a final value to see how much it rose in per cent, or a value and a percentage to get the new amount after the rise. It works for decreases too: salaries, prices, rents, bills.

Pick what you want to work out and fill in the two fields. The same calculator does percentages, discounts and increases. For example, 20% of 100 is 20.
Educational estimate, not financial advice. It calculates percentages; for VAT, income tax or interest, use the dedicated calculators.
How much it rose, in per cent
Choose "percentage change between two values" and enter the starting and the final value. The formula is (final − start) ÷ start × 100. A salary that went from €1,500 to €1,620 rose by 8%: 120 ÷ 1,500 × 100. A negative result is a decrease.
What it is worth after a rise of X%
Choose "increase a value by a percentage", enter the starting amount and the percentage. The new value is amount × (1 + percentage ÷ 100): an €800 rent with a 3% adjustment becomes €824. The "decrease" sub-selector gives the value after a fall.
Per cent and percentage points are not the same
If a rate goes from 10% to 12%, it rose by 2 percentage points but by 20% in relative terms. And rises are not undone by equal falls: €100 plus 20% is €120, minus 20% is €96, not €100. Getting back to the start takes a 16.67% decrease.
Worked example
Example: the price of a coffee goes from €1.20 to €1.35. Change: (1.35 − 1.20) ÷ 1.20 × 100 = +12.5%. The other way round, a €900 rent with a 4% increase becomes 900 × 1.04 = €936; if it then falls by 4%, it lands at €898.56, not €900.
